A comprehensive documentary about country music great Roger Miller. The
video follows the life of this Grammy Award-winning star from his early
years, growing up poor on an Oklahoma farm; to Miller's struggle to become
an established musician; his rise as a popular songwriter and recording
artist; and his death from cancer in 1992. Also covered is Miller's success
on Broadway as composer of the music in "Big River," which earned
him a Tony Award. In the process, you'll hear some of his best-known tunes
including, of course, "King of the Road." Helping to tell the
fascinating story of Miller's life are some of his closest buddies --
fellow country music stars Waylon Jennings (who narrates), Johnny Cash,
Kris Kristofferson and Willie Nelson.
