Ryestraw "Cooler Than Country" (1995)
Ryestraw

Ryestraw is a testimony to where talent, hard work and commitment can take a band. Four musicians living in different states in the western U.S. came together in the winter of '94 to form a touring bluegrass band with a new sound. Ryestraw is Steve Willis on banjo, Paul Lee on fiddle, mandolin and vocals, Albert McDonnell on upright acoustic bass and vocals, and Judith Edelman on guitar and lead vocals. A powerful bluegrass quartet that moves and inspires audiences wherever they go. They each bring to the band the influences of bluegrass and other traditional music in their home states. In the music of Ryestraw you might hear something of the mountains of Colorado, the shores of California, and the wilderness of Alaska, all brought together, of course, by the music of the hills of Kentucky.
